Women Inspiring Women

How Impressed I am with so many women I meet!!
How much we motivate one another is amazing to me!

For instance there is Jennifer H., who after getting her to finally get on her road bike for the first time, totally showed me up. I showed her how her gears worked and trouble shot some bike issues- do you think she would have struggled through her first ride? No way- she barrelled past us on every hill we conquered. Natural talent-Amazing and so motivating!!

Kim S., who decided to tackle RAGBRAI, which is a 7day 472 mile bike ride and she just bought her road bike 45 days or so ago. She somehow manages to raise two amazing boys, hold down a beautiful home, and gets out and easily rides 45-50 miles in a day without the necessary building up- she just goes. When she flats over and over and even ends up with green slime on her after her slimed tire blows- she still just laughs and keeps going. Sense of humor and perseverance.

Maribeth who is a mother of three amazing kids, Harvard Law graduate and amazingly two time Iron Mom. She would stay up until 2 am getting her rides in and falling asleep with the muscle stim machine on her. She would get up early, stay up late, and always be there to help in school and raise her kids. Did she take the easy way and just put her kids in child care during training hours and put her first. Drive, discipline and so humble.

Romi, who has qualified for Boston twice and placed in several other endurance runs by mostly training on her own. She has over come so much in her personal life and raises a handsome talented son. She finds such solace in running and is the most humble gal I know. Pure talent, drive, and perseverance.

Ellen who inspires women every day at the gym by teaching Master Swim classes to all levels. She leads a Tri Club and goes to most of their races and watches from the side cheering each one of them on. She has three kids and a husband that travels and she still takes the time to get out there and encourage these women to try new things and to race hard. Sacrifice for others and Passion.

I even met Jean the other day. She came to shop and kept apologizing for not showering but what she didn't realize that she inspired me so much by just sharing the fact that she is a Breast Ca survivor. She is taking on RAGBRIA too. Survivor, light hearted, and Perseverance.

Sara called today to check on me and when I asked her what she had done today- she had gotten up rode 20 miles, swam 3000, and then went out and ran 6 miles. Sara had knee surgery two years ago. She is so active in the community and raises two great kids as well. She bounced back after surgery and is such a motivator for me. Fighter and discipline.

Lynda is training for a century ride, Suzanne rides the huge neighborhood hills with her son in tow, and Kris just got back from 8 weeks in a Bikram Yoga seminar so she could start her own business.

I could go on and on... Women are so inspiring to me! Note I didn't
mention anything about looks, size, or style- its who these women are on the inside and what they are inspiring us to do. I love this job because you get to hear so much about what others are doing- you can't help want to get out and go!!!!
Women are just so motivating!!! Great job gals and keep up the good work!!
